M is for Museum is a new initiative by the Old Colony History Museum to encourage early literacy in our future historians by providing a sensory-friendly space to hear a story at the Old Colony History Museum. Books will be middle-elementary level and we’ll have a coloring station, Lego corner, and fidget boxes available, as well as a spot to take some space with a weighted blanket and headphones. Families of all ages are welcome to drop in on one, a few, or all our story times! January 4th February 8th & 22nd March 7th & 12th April 11th & 25th May 9th & 30th June 13th & 27th

We'll give you back the originals and your images will become a part of OCHM’s photographic record of our community. Wednesday Workshop: Historic Valentines & Modern Love Learn the history of Valentine’s day while you make something sweet for your Valentine (or yourself!) We’ll do some traditional paper crafting and create tokens of love, friendship, and happiness. This 90 minute, hands-on workshop includes all materials and is limited to 20 people, age 10 and up. Wednesday Workshop: Pet Portraits Create a special portrait of your favorite pet! Bronson Michaud will lead participants through the process of sketching and painting their pet. The final product makes the perfect piece of art for your home or a gift for a friend or family member! Please bring a favorite image of your pet in their best portrait pose, 8x10 or larger, and preferably close up.
