The New Bedford Whaling National Historical Park in New Bedford's Historic District is a must-see. Once there, this urban National Park has cobblestone streets, magnificent buildings and the remarkable New Bedford Whaling Museum. Where else can you stand beneath a 1.5 ton blue whale skeleton or climb aboard the world's largest ship model?
Fall River’s Battleship Cove is an interactive museum offering tours aboard the USS Massachusetts – you can even stay overnight with your family! While you are in the area, be sure to stop by the Iwo Jima Monument at Heritage State Park and the Marine Museum of Fall River where a colossal exhibit of RMS Titanic memorabilia awaits, including a 28' model of the ill-fated ship!
Love touring historic homes? Don't miss the Rotch-Jones-Duff House & Garden Museum. Built by shipwrights in 1834 when New Bedford was the richest city in the USA.
