Our goal is to get you where you want to be as quickly and easily as possible. Since our first flight between Boston and Provincetown in 1989, Cape Air has provided year-round service to some of the most beautiful destinations in the world. Shortly after that first flight, we expanded our service across southern New England to Hyannis, Nantucket, New Bedford, Martha’s Vineyard and Providence, RI. In 1993, we began offering flights between South Florida and the Keys and in 1998, our Caribbean route took flight. Finally, in 2004 we began service in Micronesia and added 3 new aircraft to our fleet, ATR 42s. These aircraft seat 46 passengers and serve our routes between Guam, Rota and Saipan. Now, Cape Air operates a fleet of over 83 Cessna 402s, 4 Britten-Norman Islanders and 2 ATRs, with up to 525 flights per day during high season. Last year Cape Air carried over 735,000 passengers, making us one of the largest independent regional airlines in the United States.
The Port of New Bedford was named one of the top 50 North American ports by readers of Yachting Magazine. Recreational boaters and land-based visitors alike will find a warm welcome at our authentic New England Seaport that mixes work and play brilliantly. For the past dozen years, our Port has been the number one fishing port in USA based on the dollar value of our yearly catch. Close to 500 fishing boats call New Bedford their home port. You are welcome to walk along the docks but please respect those working at making a living off the sea.
