OCHM Book Group: "The Flight of the Sparrow" by Amy Belding Brown
Join us for a friendly discussion with a group of people who love to read and discuss good books. Scheduled to meet monthly on the second Saturday, newcomers are always welcome to join the group.
For May we’ll be reading "The Flight of the Sparrow" by Amy Belding Brown, a novel of historical fiction, which tells the story of Mary Rowlandson, an Englishwoman captured by Natives during King Philips War. All her life, Mary has been taught to fear God, submit to her husband, and abhor Indians. Now, having lived on the other side of the forest, she begins to question the edicts that have guided her, torn between the life she knew and the wisdom the natives have shown her.
