Artists from Suburbia is a community-based arts initiative in East Bridgewater, Massachusetts founded in 2015. We strive to present works unlike any other local theatre company with eclectic groups of locals who represent richly diverse artistic backgrounds and bring them to underserved audiences for free.
Our first project of the summer will be our Second Evening of Original One Act Plays, where we will present staged readings of new plays written by playwrights from Massachusetts. We hope to build off of the success of last summer’s event and continue to provide a space for local playwrights to share their works.
Works will include:
"Hell by Fire, Hell by Ice" by MJ Halberstadt, directed by Lisa Troy
"Easter at the Entrée Gold" by John Minigan, directed by Erica Simpson
"Take My Hand" by Rosa Nagle, directed by Michael Hammond
"The Gender Agenda" by G.L. Horton, directed by Liana Asim
Recommended for ages 13+ due to some subject matter and language.
Open captioning will be provided for audience members with limited auditory abilities.
Sponsored in part by the Brockton, Bridgewater, and Raynham Cultural Councils, local agencies supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency.
