Capture the holiday spirit on the New Bedford Preservation Society's 25th Annual Holiday House Tour December 10 (4-8 p.m.) and 11 (1-5 p.m.). Starting point for both tours will be the Wamsutta Club, 427 County Street, where a pre-tour brunch will be served on Sunday, December 11 (11 to 1 p.m.) and where the Holiday Raffle and Silent Auction will be held during tour hours. Brunch reservations ($20 including tax and tip) are suggested but not required. Call the Wamsutta Club directly at 508-997-7431 for brunch reservations.
Open again for this special 25th anniversary tour will be the Rotch-Jones-Duff House and Garden Museum along with several of the most popular private residences that have been shown in the past. You will be inspired by the varied architecture and interiors, all beautifully decorated for the season. Always popular on the tour are the costumed historic interpreters greeting visitors at one of the historic homes.
Tour tickets are $25 at the door. Advance tickets ($22) can be purchased online (through December 9 only) or at ticket sites in Greater New Bedford beginning mid-November: Arthur Moniz Gallery, New Bedford Antiques at Wamsutta, and New York Shoe Repair; in Dartmouth at The Ultimate Touch Nail Salon; in Fairhaven at Periwinkles; and in Marion at the Marion General Store. Tickets purchased online will not be mailed but will be held for you at the ticket table at the Wamsutta Club.
In addition, this year’s tour goers will be offered a discounted ticket by the Seaglass Theater Company to their “Classical Christmas" concert at the Grace Episcopal Church December 10th and 11th with the presentation of their holiday tour brochure.
