This unique railroad museum is located in four authentic railroad cars next to an active railroad yard. The museum is directly opposite the entrance to the Battleship Massachusetts. There are displays on local railroad history from 1847 until the present. It also feature a display of model trains in different gauges including an operational "N" scale train layout. Its also has a small kids play area. You will also enjoy sitting in a rare Diesel Rail Car and climbing aboard a vintage caboose. Visiting the boxcar will show you more displays and it also houses a video theater which shows railroad videos. The museum is open May 1 to June 30 and September 1 to Sept 29 Saturdyas and Sundays 12 to 4 pm. In July and August the museum is open Friday Saturday and Sunday 12 to 4 pm. We also hold special events all summer and we host a Haunted Rail Yard the last three weekends (Friday, Saturday and Sunday) in October.
